Commercial Shipping Documents
Prepare the information used to quote, export and clear business cargo.

Describe the goods accurately
A commercial invoice generally identifies the seller, buyer, goods, quantity and value. A vague description can delay review of the route and import requirements.
Match the packing list
Piece counts, weights, marks and descriptions should be consistent across the invoice, packing list and shipment instructions. Flag any batteries, liquids or regulated goods early.
Confirm route-specific requirements
Export reporting, permits and destination import documents depend on the goods and route. Use official Canadian resources and confirm the importer’s requirements before dispatch.
