How to Measure Freight for a Quote

Measure cargo after packing so the quote reflects what will actually move.

Measure the outer package

Record length, width and height of each sealed carton, crate or pallet, including wrap and overhang. Use one unit consistently and give the quantity of identical pieces.

Weigh the packed pieces

Use gross weight including pallets and packaging. LCL pricing can depend on both volume and weight, with minimum charges and route-specific rules.

Call out unusual handling

Identify non-stackable goods, fragile cargo, batteries, liquids, machinery or pieces that need special loading. Photographs can help us clarify the handling request.
