Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in southwest China, is about 372 km in a straight line from Chongqing, where A1's rate ends at the destination warehouse. Sailing via Vancouver takes about 50 days and costs least, against roughly 60 via Montreal or Toronto. The rate is USD 4 per cubic foot, with a smallest shipment of USD 406.28.
Chongqing cargo is customs cleared in Shanghai, and the consignee then collects in Chongqing or arranges trucking along the expressway to Chengdu, outside our price, with Chinese duties and taxes also paid locally. The carrier requires a commercial invoice and packing list, the consignee's USCC or tax ID number, and the shipper's enterprise code (GST number); alcohol and tobacco are not accepted. Students and families returning to Sichuan can ship personal effects subject to carrier approval, with a signed packing list and a passport copy. Use heat-treated ISPM 15 pallets or crates and drop them at our warehouse yourself. Declared value is limited to CAD 2,000.
How a shipment to Chengdu works
Chengdu is not a destination in the carrier's tariff. The closest priced destination is Chongqing about 372 km (straight line) from Chengdu: the A1 price covers ocean freight from Canada to the destination warehouse (CFS) at Chongqing. From there the consignee collects the cargo or books the last leg to Chengdu with a local trucking company; that delivery, destination customs clearance, duties and taxes are not in the A1 price.
