Commercial LCL shipping from Canada to Mauritius
Samples, spare parts, stock for a small shop or goods for a customer abroad do not need a whole container. A1 ships commercial cargo in shared ocean containers (LCL) from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver to Port Louis. The rate starts at USD 6 per cubic foot to Port Louis, and the carrier estimates 55–55 days in transit depending on the gateway and the city.
Port Louis, the capital, is the island's only commercial port and the destination in the tariff.
Mauritians returning after living abroad and foreigners with a residence or occupation permit can usually import used household goods with duty exemptions from the Mauritius Revenue Authority; biosecurity checks apply to food, plants and wood.
Commercial importers in Mauritius need a Business Registration Number and declarations are filed electronically through the TradeNet system, usually by a customs broker. VAT is 15 % on most goods, and many basic and industrial products carry no customs duty. Some goods, such as food, plants, medicines and telecommunication equipment, need an import permit or clearance from the relevant authority before arrival, so the invoice and permits should be ready before the cargo sails.

Pallets and crates
Commercial cargo travels palletized or crated. Wood packaging must be ISPM 15 heat-treated and stamped, or the cargo can be refused at the destination. Stack the cartons squarely on the pallet, no wider than the pallet itself, and stretch-wrap and strap them; label every piece with the consignee's name and city in Mauritius. You deliver the cargo, already palletized or crated, to our receiving warehouse in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver: A1 does not offer pickup and does not palletize. The warehouse measures and weighs the cargo, and the final price follows those measurements.
