Commercial LCL shipping from Canada to Brazil
Samples, spare parts, stock for a small shop or goods for a customer abroad do not need a whole container. A1 ships commercial cargo in shared ocean containers (LCL) from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver to Rio De Janeiro and Santos. The rate starts at USD 4 per cubic foot to Santos, and the carrier estimates 35–70 days in transit depending on the gateway and the city.
Personal effects sent to Brazil are treated as unaccompanied baggage. The owner declares them to the Federal Revenue (Receita Federal) through the electronic traveller declaration (e-DBV) and normally has to be in Brazil for clearance; used personal items within the allowances are duty-free, while new goods and electronics above the limits are taxed. Brazilian clearance is document-heavy, so keep the packing list detailed and in line with the declaration.
Commercial cargo to Brazil needs an importer registered in the Siscomex system (RADAR), and import duties and taxes are among the highest in the world, so commercial shippers should agree the Incoterms carefully. Wooden packing must be ISPM 15 treated and marked: the Ministry of Agriculture inspects it, and untreated wood is returned or destroyed at the shipper's cost.

Pallets and crates
Commercial cargo travels palletized or crated. Wood packaging must be ISPM 15 heat-treated and stamped, or the cargo can be refused at the destination. Stack the cartons squarely on the pallet, no wider than the pallet itself, and stretch-wrap and strap them; label every piece with the consignee's name and city in Brazil. You deliver the cargo, already palletized or crated, to our receiving warehouse in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver: A1 does not offer pickup and does not palletize. The warehouse measures and weighs the cargo, and the final price follows those measurements.
