Commercial LCL shipping from Canada to Bangladesh
Samples, spare parts, stock for a small shop or goods for a customer abroad do not need a whole container. A1 ships commercial cargo in shared ocean containers (LCL) from Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver to Chittagong. The rate starts at USD 5 per cubic foot to Chittagong, and the carrier estimates 48–58 days in transit depending on the gateway and the city.
Commercial cargo only. The carrier does not accept personal effects, household goods or foodstuffs to Bangladesh. The consignee must have a Business Identification Number (BIN), freight must be prepaid, and no single package may exceed 3,000 kg. Bangladeshi importers usually need a letter of credit or import registration certificate, so confirm the documents with the buyer before shipping.
Tips for commercial shippers. Bangladesh imports are usually paid through a letter of credit opened by the importer's bank, and the documents on the bill of lading must match the letter of credit exactly. Machinery, textiles and spare parts for the garment industry are common shipments. Because Chittagong port can be congested, ask the consignee to appoint a clearing and forwarding agent before the vessel arrives.
Documents for the importer. Bangladesh customs processes import declarations electronically (ASYCUDA World), and the clearing agent lodges the bill of entry for the consignee. Give the buyer a commercial invoice with the HS code, quantity, unit price and country of origin of every line, plus the packing list and bill of lading, early enough for the agent to prepare the duty assessment. Wrong or vague descriptions are a common cause of reassessment and port storage charges in Chittagong, so describe goods precisely (model numbers for machinery, fibre content for textiles).

Pallets and crates
Commercial cargo travels palletized or crated. Wood packaging must be ISPM 15 heat-treated and stamped, or the cargo can be refused at the destination. Stack the cartons squarely on the pallet, no wider than the pallet itself, and stretch-wrap and strap them; label every piece with the consignee's name and city in Bangladesh. You deliver the cargo, already palletized or crated, to our receiving warehouse in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver: A1 does not offer pickup and does not palletize. The warehouse measures and weighs the cargo, and the final price follows those measurements.
